How to install WP Pro Admin, keep it updated, and what uninstalling leaves behind.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.2 or newer
  • PHP 7.4 or newer

WP Pro Admin is free and GPL-licensed. It is not on wordpress.org yet — until it is, you install it from the zip served by this site.

Install from the release zip

01

Download

Download the latest release from this site.

02

Upload

In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin and choose the zip.

03

Activate

Click Install Now, then Activate. Done.

Prefer the command line? WP-CLI installs straight from the download URL:

wp plugin install https://wpproadmin.com/download.zip --activate

After activation

A Pro Admin item appears in the admin menu. That screen is the whole plugin.

Every feature starts off. Activating the plugin changes nothing on your site until you switch something on — a feature you haven’t enabled registers zero hooks and loads zero assets.

Updating

The plugin updates itself through the normal WordPress update flow. When a new version is released, it appears on your Dashboard → Updates screen and in the plugin list like any other update — one click, or automatic if you enable auto-updates for it.

Your settings survive every update: everything lives in a single option row that the update never touches. If you’d rather update by hand, uploading a newer release zip over the installed copy works too — WordPress asks to Replace current with uploaded.

Uninstalling

Deactivating the plugin simply stops all features. Deleting it runs a full cleanup:

  • The settings option is removed.
  • The Keep URL redirect table is dropped. Old page addresses stop redirecting — deleting the plugin is the one action that means “forget them.”
  • Live Draft pointers and Replace Media bookkeeping are removed from post meta.

One thing is left alone on purpose: media files. If Replace Media kept previous versions of a file, those stay on disk — deleting user uploads during an uninstall is not this plugin’s call to make.

On multisite, every site in the network gets the same full cleanup.

Install it, lock it, forget it.
